Emma Nyra was born and raised in Tyler, Texas, where she received her early education. She is of Igbo descent from Delta State in Nigeria. After graduating from Texas Southern University with a degree in Health Care Administration, she moved to Nigeria in 2012 to pursue her dreams in music and modeling.

Musical Beginnings and Made Men Music

Emma Nyra released her debut singles, “Do It” and “Everything I Do,” in 2011 while in the U.S. Upon moving to Nigeria, she collaborated with D’Tunes and Iyanya. In March 2012, she signed with Made Men Music Group, which marked her major debut in the Nigerian music industry. Her vocal appearance on Iyanya’s “Ur Waist” further solidified her presence in the scene.

Rising Star and Solo Success

In 2013, Emma Nyra was recognized as the “Most Promising Act to Watch” at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. She released several singles and toured the United States and Canada between 2013 and 2014, working with artists like Davido, Patoranking, and Olu Maintain.
