Aituaje Aina Vivian Ebele Iruobe, professionally known as Waje (an acronym for “Words Aren’t Just Enough”), is a Nigerian singer renowned for her powerful three-octave vocal range. Born on September 1, 1981, in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, Waje is the firstborn in her family. She grew up in Benin City after her parents relocated there.
Despite facing challenges, including her parents’ separation during her youth, Waje pursued her passion for music. She earned a degree in Social Work from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) while developing her vocal skills by listening to legends like Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.
