Making Jump To Our Beats LagosJump Radio
Cobhams Asuquo, born on January 6, 1981, is a renowned Nigerian musician, producer, and songwriter whose influence on African music is unparalleled. From his beginnings as Head of Audio Productions at Questionmark Entertainment to launching his own recording facility in 2006, Cobhams has consistently set high standards in the music industry.
In 2008, Cobhams founded Cobhams Asuquo Music Production (CAMP), and later, Vintage Gray Media Ltd. Through these platforms, he produced some of Nigeria’s most celebrated music, including Asa’s debut album, featuring hits like “Fire on the Mountain” and “Jailer.” His ability to blend sounds and craft memorable songs has made him a go-to producer for local and international artists.
Cobhams’ production portfolio includes a lineup of celebrated artists such as Banky W, Omawumi, Timi Dakolo, and Tiwa Savage. His work extends beyond music to include film scores for notable films like “Bent Arrows” and “Sunshine.”
His impact goes global, with performances at events such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and collaborations on global humanitarian campaigns like ONE’s “Strong Girl” anthem and the UN Global Goals song, “Tell Everyone.”
Even though he is visually impaired, Cobhams’ resilience and creativity continue to inspire millions. His 2014 single “Ordinary People” remains a timeless anthem of hope and perseverance. As he produces new music and empowers African talent, Cobhams’ legacy continues to grow.
