Maya Azucena Joins ‘Stars and Legends’: A New Chapter in Nigerian Reality TV
Exciting news for reality TV fans! American artist Maya Azucena is joining Nigeria’s “Stars and Legends” as a co-producer.
The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos backs this show. It aims to enthral Nigerian viewers and inspire national budding talents.
With vast industry knowledge, Maya will guide contestants. Their goal? Making a mark in Nigeria’s dynamic entertainment scene.
“Stars and Legends isn’t just another talent show,” Maya notes. It champions young Nigerian entrepreneurs. Through art, essential business skills are nurtured, paving their way to excellence.
Joe Kruzich, Public Affairs Officer, is thrilled. “Maya Azucena’s inclusion highlights the U.S.’s commitment. We’re supporting Nigeria’s burgeoning arts scene,” says Kruzich.
Samuel Peterson, the show’s creator, praises Maya. “She’s an accomplished artist and youth advocate. Maya mirrors our vision for the show. A great addition,” he adds.

In the U.S., Maya wears many hats. Producer, host, and writer. Her songs? They’re about empowerment. Hits like “Fearless” and “I Am Enough” come to mind.
Part of the show involves a masterclass. Maya and Peterson, alongside Nigerian artists like Dr. Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli and Cobhams Asuquo, will host it at the University of Lagos. Starting October 6, these sessions aim to arm attendees with industry knowledge.
