Shay’s career took flight when she joined the girl group From Above. The group, managed by Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles, opened doors for Shay, allowing her to perform with icons like Beyoncé and even present an award at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Chart-Topping Solo Success

After venturing out on her own, Shay established herself as a force in Afrobeats.  Her debut album, “Seyi or Shay,” showcased her genre-bending sound, blending Afropop and R&B influences.  Singles like “Irawo” and “Murda” became hits, solidifying her place in the Nigerian music scene.
