Making Jump To Our Beats LagosJump Radio
Dedeukwu, a 29-year-old Crypto musician from Abia State, Nigeria, is on a mission to blend creativity, culture, and heritage through music and web3 technology. Born Ifeanyi Igwe, Dedeukwu’s journey began in 2006, recording demos and participating in theatre activities in Aba. Today, he’s not just a musician but a visionary, having founded the DedeukwuShryne Collective, a platform that bridges the gap between creativity and web3 technology, and co-founded Chapter One Global Charity Foundation, helping artists leverage DAO technology.
As an artist, Dedeukwu’s inspiration comes from the need to express his heritage, culture, and history. His music reflects real-life stories, and his sound is deeply influenced by Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti, Burna Boy, and Shaggy. His latest single, A Million Africans, emphasizes sharing knowledge in the fast-evolving tech world, while his upcoming EP, NDI NKE EKWENSU, delves into the complexities of life using the Igbo god of business and warfare as a symbol.
Dedeukwu’s music journey is intertwined with his exploration of web3, having sold over $20k worth of music NFTs and onboarded more than 3,000 builders into the Defi ecosystem. His ability to merge technology with music sets him apart in the Nigerian music scene, where he’s making waves not only in Lagos but globally.
Fans should look out for his upcoming EP, NDI NKE EKWENSU, and the plans for his first tour. Dedeukwu also envisions founding a decentralized music and movie streaming platform in the next five years, designed to support independent artists.
If you’re new to his music, start with DEDEUKWU, a spiritual journey that takes you deep into his self-realization.
